The deployment and installation of Sun Innovations' groundwater monitoring and data management system mark a significant step forward in protecting groundwater resources for Vinh Phuc Water Supply and Drainage Joint Stock Company No. 1. This solution enables the company to effectively monitor groundwater quality, contributing to the protection of groundwater resources for daily life and production of local residents. Client Overview: Vinh Phuc Water Supply and Drainage Joint Stock Company No. 1 Vinh Phuc Water Supply and Drainage Joint Stock Company No. 1 currently manages and operates 7 water treatment plants and 2 construction and installation enterprises, providing clean water services to approximately 44,000 customers across 8 out of 9 districts and cities in the province. To date, the company's total clean water production capacity has reached 78,000 m³/day across 6 water treatment facilities. Transitioning from public water points, the unit's clean water supply now directly reaches households and entities in need. Notably, Vinh Phuc Water Supply and Drainage Joint Stock Company No. 1 is among the first water suppliers in Northern Vietnam to build and implement a Quality Management System compliant with ISO 17025:2017 standards and register the brand identity "Vinhphuc Water". Since the re-establishment of Vinh Phuc province in 1997, the company has achieved remarkable milestones: production capacity increased 19.4-fold (from 4,000 m³/day to 78,000 m³/day); clean water output rose 34-fold (from 711,000 m³ to over 24 million m³); total revenue expanded 141-fold (from 1.49 billion VND to 210.6 billion VND); customer base expanded 29.8-fold (from 1,500 to 44,767 customers); and the water loss rate significantly decreased from 42% in 1997 down to 13% in 2023, establishing the company as one of the top industry performers with low non-revenue water rates. Challenges in Groundwater Monitoring Previously, groundwater monitoring at Vinh Phuc Water Supply No. 1 was conducted manually, facing numerous difficulties and drawbacks such as: Monitoring data was not centrally stored, making data retrieval and analysis difficult. Data analysis was subjective and lacked technological support. Assessing groundwater quality and overall reserves remained challenging. Deployment of Groundwater Monitoring Management Software To overcome these challenges, Vinh Phuc Water Supply No. 1 deployed Sun Innovations' groundwater monitoring and data management system. Developed by Sun Innovations Vietnam, this management software leverages IoT technology for environmental monitoring data management, resolving core operational issues: Monitoring groundwater quality continuously to promptly detect and address contamination incidents, safeguarding water resources for local daily and production activities. Evaluating groundwater reserves within the basin to support local socio-economic planning and strategic development. Studying factors affecting groundwater quality to propose sustainable groundwater protection solutions. Results and Achievements By implementing the monitoring system and groundwater data management platform, Vinh Phuc Water Supply No. 1 has made significant progress in groundwater protection. Specifically, the system has enabled the company to: Rapidly and accurately collect groundwater monitoring data from both automated and manual monitoring stations. Store groundwater monitoring data systematically, facilitating convenient retrieval and analysis. Automate groundwater data analysis with high accuracy, helping the company evaluate water quality and reserves efficiently. In particular, the system has helped Vinh Phuc Water Supply No. 1 detect and resolve several groundwater pollution incidents in a timely manner, safeguarding water sources for public consumption and industrial use. As a result, Sun Innovations' groundwater monitoring and data management system has become an essential tool in elevating groundwater protection standards and contributing to a green, clean, and sustainable environment for the community.
